Philanthropy

Alpha Sigma Alpha adopted the Special Olympics as it's national philanthropic project in 1976. Since then our chapter  has been active in numerous of the Special Olympics Area 9: New River Valley Chapter's annual events. Some of our favorites include the Regional Basketball Tournament, Bowling Leagues, the annual Halloween Dance and of course the big Spring Track and Field Games!

Our second philanthropy is the S. June Smith Center, named after an Alpha Sigma Alpha sister, Dr. S. June Smith, Kappa Kappa Chapter. Located in Lancaster, PA, it's mission is to provide assistance to children with learning disabilities.

Additionally, our sisters donate their time at the local retirement community, Wheatland Hills. We assist the nurses in throwing a Valentines Day Lunch Party each year and love to stop by for BINGO when we can!
